Hi Guys,

I recently built a new system and have 2 problems with the following items:
Asus P6X58D-E Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard
x 2 - Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 12800C9 1600MHz Triple Channel (CMX6GX3M3A1600C9)

When I run CPUZ it says my RAM is Dual Channel, and also have 12GB of RAM installed. But when I look in the BIOS and System Properties it only shows 8GB of RAM.

So I would like to make my RAM Tri Channel and also use ALL of the 12GB of RAM.

I've done the usual stuff, tested each RAM module seperatley, reseated the CPU, tried some suggested different voltage settings but as of yet, no luck. Any suggestions more than welcome and I will try them when I get home this evening. If anyone requires more information I will provide it.

Thanks.

I had the same problem with this mobo, except, instead of 6GB showing only 4GB showed, I solved it by fitting 4 fibrous washers between cooler backplate and mobo, as seen Here

Also have a look Here

I have sent my P6X58D-E off for RMA after having this problem, showing 4GB instead of 6GB.

Looks like it’s a common problem with this board, I will use washers on the new board when I receive it back.

Cheers

Anyone have this board who could answer a question for me? (Mine is still being RMA'd)

I am wanting to run 2 x GTX470 graphics card both with gelid icy vision coolers, so each card will be 3 slots in depth.

Is it possible to fit 2 of these at 3 slots each with the spacing between the pci-e slots?

Cheers
Adam

Not in top two 16x (blue) pci-e slots you wont im afraid

I have a gtx480 with an arctic (3 slot) cooler on and i cant fit my gtx460 (2 slot cooler)on the next PCI slot and they are the two 16x and because of this i have had to put the 460 in pci-e top blue slot and the 480 in the 2nd and now have to wait for pc to load before i get a picture WISH I KNEW HOW TO CHANGE THE DEFAULT CARD IN BIOS but there dont seem to be anyway that i can find

if you use the third one (grey) it is either 8x or 1x as set in BIOS
