Hi, basically, in my rig I've got a p8z68-V Pro motherboard, i7 2600k, gtx 580, 8gb 1600mhz ram, and a custom liquid cooling loop, controlled by a 5.25" fan controller. The thing is, whenever I turn my computer on, I get the error 'No cpu fan detected'. I've set the motherboard to not wait for F1 and go straight into boot, but it is holding up my boot times, and I'd rather get rid of it. I've set it to ignore more or less everything to do with the fan monitoring in BIOS to 'ignore'. I was wondering if there was a way to stop this error message, thanks.

Asus board huh.

I have a Maximus Gene III and it did that. I recall fiddling some settings in the BIOS to tell it to shaddup and it's been fine since.

BRB, restarting to see what they were.

Quick Boot = on
Do not wait for F1 = on

That's all.

I've got do not wait for F1, but I can't find quick boot anywhere, what menu is it under?

Remember that I've got a different Asus board but mines under the tab called Boot -> Boot Settings Configuration

Well, looks like you're boned on that. I had a look through the manual for your board and rummaged on the net a bit and you just don't have a Quick Boot option.

What bios version are you on? I'm sure there was an issue with 0406 on the -v pro boards relating to this issue that was fixed in later bios updates.

Thanks anyway

I'm on 0502 IIRC

Your right, been a while since I checked, newest is 0902, which offers IB support. I'm still rockin' out on 0406 :p
