Is it possible to paint speakers that are made out of wood?

I want to paint some maple colour speakers to either black or high gloss black.
Possible?

I was thinking of taking them down to a local cosmetic car care specialist (who touches up paint work and does resprays) and getting him to do it.

Im guessing once the cones are covered up its just a case of preping the wood for primer, apply primer and then spray paint....?

Good idea?

Take all the bits out of them then spray the cabinets, I wouldn't attempt to just try and cover them up.

Also, what speakers are they and how much is a respray costing you?

im doing this to my kef q55's, there pretty old now and have taken a few knocks and the laminate is peeling off in places so i asked my mate who sprays cars and he's going to do it for me in a high gloss black.

just strip them down so its just the cabinets ;)
