I'm about to make a TV purchase for the living room which is hosted by an HTPC to play HD and a console. The problem is whether to choose an LCD or plasma since the PC runs windows and is occasionally used to browse the internet, itunes etc and I'm concerned about IR.

Does anyone else use a Panasonic G10 or G15 for these kind of purposes - I've heard the Panasonics are quite resilient against IR but I don't want to end up a year down the line with a Windows icon etched into the screen :p

Thanks, Pj

I have a G10 and it's great with everything I've thrown at it. I've got a PS3, Wii, HT and HTPC connected to it and they all look great to me.

I've not had it long enough to worry about IR. Others may be able to inform you more.
