Paralells - what's the story?

A lot of the reviews reckon the new version 6 of Parallels whips the pants right off Fusion. Just what I've read as I have no experience of either but from what I have read I think Parallels will be getting my money. Either that or I will make Windows 7 my main OS!!!!!!!!!!!

It beats it when using 3d apps but for day to day use there is bugger all difference and to be honest if you want 3d performance...use boot camp. I've currently got multiple Win 7 and XP images running and they work perfectly well. Get which ever is cheaper, I upgraded my Fusion 2 license to Fusion 3 for about £15

As to Fusion/Parallels - I prefer Parallels for my desktop stuff but Fusion scales far better for server side things. I can get more guests running on Fusion than I could on Parallels. To be fair, I haven't experimented with Parallels 6 on the server side.

Good news is that if you purchased parallels5 after aug 15 you could get a free upgrade to 6. Hopefully my activation key will turn up before I get home, at the end of the week so I can give it a spin over the weekend

I got an email yesterday informing me I was still in the grace period. Nice free upgrade to 6 for me

Haven't noticed any change yet, but I only run Windows 7 to use Office and do other Windows-related stuff for work.
