Hi all

Just found out my 'rents TV has popped its clogs, so to speak. Intermittent power, incredibly loud static through the speakers and a flickery image.

It's a 6-7 year old 32" LG LCD (no idea on the exact model), but they're wanting to upgrade a bit.

Their budget is roughly £500, ideally no more (a few quid is no issue). I thought a plasma screen would suit them more, as the room isn't overly bright.

Basic desires then!

42" or thereabouts
Plasma
Full HD ideally
No need for internet enabled or anything, as they have Tivo for anything like that.
3D not wanted. It will never be used, and there's no point adding cost for an underused feature.

All help appreciated! Thanks!

Can you get a Panasonic 42" G30 for that? If not then the ST30. Lovely picture on them.

Edit: Looks like a Panasonic G30 (TX-P42G30) should be in budget, possibly with a 5 year warranty. Great THX certified 2D plasma, it does have Smart apps and the iPlayer interface is lovely but they never have to launch that area if they don't want.

Found a G30 with 5 year warranty for £495...think that may be perfect.
