Right guys. Think this best goes here, if not apologies and someone move it.

I'm hiring a Luton van for about a week. In a flat with designated parking, but clearly not big enough (about 5m x 2.3m) to park a van. Got some residential streets nearby that we could in theory park on, but then it's out of sight and we're not sure how a) the residents would react and b) if we might want to leave stuff in it and therefore would be ideal if we could be in line of sight.

We've got friends nearby on a residential street with a drive (again not big enough for the van) but could park on their street, but little bit worried about road blocking/what you're actually legally allowed to do parking wise.

Anyone got experience + know the rules (think technically it would need parking lights on overnight because it's 3.5T - and I could imagine that annoying some residents) and have any recommendations?

Is the best option to return it to the hiring company each evening for example?

Cheers

ask your friends if you can park across their drive, and let them use your parking space for the week while their access is blocked.

Speak to you neighbours. Particularly the one with the larger corner spot. Park your own vehicle at your friend's, let the neighbour use your spot, and park the van in their spot. Follow up with a bottle of wine or box of chocolates.
