Parking at home

It's disappointing to see how many are people are willing to lower themselves to petty vandalism. Probably the same people that whinge insurance prices are extortionate.

I genuinely expected better from people.

In the past I would have agreed with you however it seems that most people these days lack the higher brain functions to contemplate polite requests, have good manners and behave in a civil manner so lower one's own standard to get things sorted is seemingly the only way to communicate with them.

Generally the law is no help because getting involved requires more work than sitting by the road-side with a speed gun/ANPR camera.

i would guess your not the only one thinking "what can we do" in your block

just keep a level head, if they block you, knock on their flat and ask them if they could please move their car as you need to go somewhere.
make a hint you work shifts too and everytime they do it, knock on them at 2am saying you need to go to work!.

Assuming the front door to their flat opens inwards, stretch a single strip of clingfilm at head height across the doorway, so that when they step out into the corridor it wraps around their face.

I have no idea how this would help with your parking situation, but it'll be as annoying as hell for them I'd imagine.

At least your problems are with people from the same block/road parking badly. We have people from the neighbouring roads who have drives, garages and space on the road who park down our cramped apartment block road.

Inconsiderate idiots.

This :D However I would also leave a note somewhere close by so they could see it explaining about the annoyance of something being in the way. Also they would learn to expect it head hight so occasionally put it low too haha.

Set fire to the van? Keep doing it till they stop owning a van? Poo in their letter box!!!

That'd leave DNA evidence should they decide to report it though :)

But according to some on here, you just have to [paraphrase] "lump it or make better choices in where you live" [/paraphrase]

As I said in the other thread, if you've got a valid Tax Disc, you have every right to park where you're legally allowed. Being considerate unfortunately doesn't come into it these days, and why would you use your lovely garage for your car when you could just stash your knick knacks there instead and then take up the parking space outside someone else's house? They're not using it at that exact second, so they obviously never want to.

My vote still goes for stake out. Record them doing it, intentionally casuing problems for other members of the public. Take to police and get them spoken to about disturbing the the peace.
