Passengers want Asian men thrown off the plane!

1) For a start I think you will find that the family pictured were ON the plane but were witnesses rather than complainers so lets not be too quick to criticise them merely becasue their photo has been attached to the story

2) You will also find that it was not merely being asian that lead to the people being taken from the plane, the two gentleman were also 'scruffily' dressed and were chatting in arabic (doesn't neccessarily justify, but isn't merely 'racial' profiling)

As far as the 'ejection', slapping and ostracise comments I bet each of you would have a very different opinion if you were in the same situation so lets not spend this thread making increasingly grandiose statements of how we disapprove of the actions

So all the terrorists wear leather jackets and thick jumpers? I would tell the FBI and MI5 should help narrow it down a bit. :D

Racist ****s. So can I expect to get chucked off planes if I wear heavy clothing now? To say that is even remotely acceptable is ridiculous.

No but I expect it is part of the profiling, which is based on statistical data. Leather jackets and jumpers can conceal thing easier.

Profiling is no different to working out some ones insurance policy on there car. Its not racist or anything else. Its just done on statistical data.

As for passengers taking it into there own hands, they should off been thrown off with no refund.

I think you will find that they refused to fly with the men on board. Are you suggesting that the plane should eject all but two passengers on the basis of 'moral grounds'? Sounds impractical.

Are these people not allowed to have security concerns, or are they merely allowed to use criteria that YOU agree with?

The criteria I agree with is based on statistical data, those passengers do not have that data, the police and security detail do.

As for the passengers, they should have been given a choice fly or get off without refund. This country does not need to turn to a blanket racial hatred.

This would likely cause significantly more disruption than rearranging flights for the two arab men, who I am betting were then given first class tickets on the next available flight and perhaps even financial compensation.

I don't think it is appropriate to tell a plane full of nervous passengers to fly or leave. Their mood would be ten times as bad in-flight and if something were to happen, it is possible that a frenzy could break out leading to a much more serious incident all because you believe their emotions are innapropriate.

If you were a nervous flyer, for any reason, would you appreciate being treated as if your concerns were innapropriate, being told to either leave without refund or fly?

It is unfortunate that this happened, but I think the aircrew took the best soltuion to the situation.

Oh you're being ridiculous.

2) Hot in England is *nothing* compared to where they were going. Plus aircon can make planes cold, I've worn jumpers and stuff more than once...

Last paragraph: There was no 'situation' apart from the evidently scumbag, racist, chav holiday-maker - imo these people should've been told to fly or get off the plane without refund.

How dare Arabic people talk Arabic! omg!

How would you react if it was an Arabic family causing a fuss over white people? ;)

Yeah damn those scumbags for being scared.

Well said.

I dont care what a load of do gooders say, i would not risk my Kids lives even if there was a small chance of something happening.

Pandering to bigotted racist paranoid ****wits will get us no further than pandering to terrorists.

As said before, it was not merely the race that made the passengers nervous, and last time I checked asian people can happily get on planes.

Also, given the situation I believe that the best steps were taken to resolve the situation. I am also betting the two gentlemen in question had a far more comfortable flight waiting for them after the initial ejection.
