Patriot Tri 6GB Memory sttings on i7 920 ?

*** 6GB Tri *** I just tryed 1600 8 8 8 24 with 1.64V and it Crashes my pc !


At the moment its running at 7 7 7 20 at 1333 ..........


Anyone know what i should have it all setup as on i7 920 non overclocked ?
 
Thats strange these memory chips should OC with ease. I should have my digital camera sent tommorow. I 'l try and take a shot of my settings for you.
 
its just default ! do i need to change that aswell ?

also Note this is i920 Stock 2.67gz


I tryed 7 7 7 20 & 8 8 8 24 at 1600 with Voltage at 1.65 and everytime it just shuts down and wont boot up.... I did overclock my processor the other day for 10mins to 3.8ghz and had the memory at 8 8 8 24 1600 and all worked great ^^ but i cant do this yet as i only have retail fan and it heats up to around 80-90c ^^ So i put it back to Factory Default for now......


At the moment the Board has set it to 7 7 7 20 1033 ?
Is this correct at i7 920 Stock

I would suggest clearing your CMOS as when you previously OC your i7 to 3.8ghz it could have messed the settings up. This has happened to me before. Also what motherboard do you have?

This is the table which I looked at, same as your Ram model right?.

OK, mine are as follows:

QPI/Vtt 1.175v - (stock settings)
DRAM 1.640v - Its recommend that 1.650 is used so either 1.640v or 1.660 is safe.

still having problems with these above settings .....

Tryed 8 8 8 24 2T and also 7 7 7 20 1T with opt / vtt at 1.175 and Dram at 1.640 ...... The pc starts up and then sometimes it will crash and do a memory dump or wont start at all ! Gees cant believe its so much hard work trying to get it to run at 1600 MHZ !
 
Ok i got it running stable now at


8 8 8 24 2T with opi / vtt at 1.180 and D-ram at 1.64 ^^


Windows 7 Score 7.8 ^^ And Processor at 7.5 so all good ! X


I think it might have been to do with the fact i didnt have all 3 x memory sticks in the motherboard on the blue band , 1 stick was in white band socket so i take it they must have to be all together in the 3 x blue sockets X
 
Someone could have told me to make sure the sticks where both in the Blue band lol !


I will play around with it and see if i can it up anymore, but it seems to be ok at the moment and if windows 7 is given me 7.8 Score then im very happy with that ^^
