Okay guys here we go I get paid next friday but due to funding a holiday etc I will have only a budget of Just over £100 to spend. Trying to stay below if possible.

Im just not happy with the cooling in my system at the moment, I have everything installed in a Cooler Master Centurion 532 case and a Zalman 9500LED cooler over my CPU!

Full Spec

Intel Core 2 Duo e6300 @ 2.4GHz
2gb Corsair Value Select Mem
Asus Mobo based on 945 chipset
2x250gb HDD
8800gts 320mb
Audigy 2 ZS
Hiper Type R 580w(1.5years old now, so the good ones ;P)
2xDVD RW

Basically overall I dont like the temps im getting, probably due to the fact the case is fairly small and a bit cramped in design. Also I am not using a 120mm fan at the back to help vent air.

The temps on the CPU are 47degress idle and 56load.

I want to improve things some what and now im looking for the best solution.

Do I change the case and go for something larger and with much better cooling operation like the Gigabyte Aurora 3d or 570?

Go for some sort of watercooling setup internally? But as I said the case is cramped really so might not be ideal

Last but not least, try an external Watercooling kit like one of the ones offered from Thermaltake like the symphony for example?

Thanks

Fit a fan and save the rest...?

There's nothing wrong with your temps though.

Really? I thought they seemed fairly high, clearly not though I guess! :)

Il probably just fit another 120mm Fan then on the back.

Also I have both the Windowed and Standard Side Panel, would the Standard side panel with it small grill improve things? Also I could attach a 80mm fan there.

Might do one or two degrees but the rear fan will probably have the largest impact on temps with minimal additional noise.

Post a pic, might be able to tidy up the cabling a little to improve airflow.

Why dont you put in a 120mm fan at the back, change the CPU cooler to AC Freezer Pro an go out on the p**s with the change?! :D

His cooler is already better than the freezer 7 pro.

Then go for the Tuniq 120 tower?!
But I thought, and I am regularly proved wrong on these forums, that performance for OC'd CPU's was
Armarda Titan
Tuniq 120
AC Freezer 7 Pro
Or is this tosh? Benifit from the Freezer would be he could direct to toward the rear exhast fan, and he cannot do that with the Zalman so well?!

Nah the Zalman directs to the the rear of the case also, I had a Titan Amanda but it wasnt too great, least I didnt think so anyways! I will probably make use of the 120mm Fan that came with that cooler and stick it on the back of the case.

Il do that tonight and see how it all goes!

As For the cable management stuff iv been trying to get it going just by using basic garden wire to keep all of them grouped together at the nearer side to the window of the case. I could probably do a big better job of it though but its as tidy as its gonna get I think.

But does the zalman not have the fins around the outside of the fan, where as on the freezer its like a rad with fan blowing air through it?

BUT, as you already have a 120mm fan to put on the case, and are happy with the CPU cooler, just spend the £100 on 2 nights on the p**s!!! :D

Not quite like that Phish... more like

Stupidly expensive but very good - Titan Amanda

Better priced and still good - Tuniq Tower, Thermalright Ultra 120 etc.

Cheap and cheerful - Freezer 7 pro

The freezer is the best cooler for a low budget, I have one myself with a 120mm fan fitted.

Okay, took the fan from the titan and stuck it to the back of the case, temps dropped a good bit! :D

Down to 41idle now so pretty happy with that now! That was with an increased core from 2.4 to 2.45 so all seems to be running a lot nicer now!

Indeed indeed! :D

Surprised at the difference to the temps tho in all honesty!

Ran Tat @ 100% on both cores for 20minutes and the highest reached was 56degrees on the 2nd core and 55 on the first, I'm assuming those temps are perfectly safe?
