I have a Asus A7S8X-MX with a Athlon XP and 2x512 MB DDR3200.
When the pc boots up, instead of the normal one short POST beep, there are three short beeps. Following this the PC goes into standby mode.
After pressing the power connecter, the machine boots as normal, but when windows loads, the machine enters standby mode again.
Pressing the power switch will wake the pc up but after a few seconds it goes right back to standby.
This problem is very frustrating as the pc is basically unusable in it's current state.
Does anybody have any ideas what the cause of the problem could be?
Any help finding a solution would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks
** One other thing, the pc starts up straight away when the power is connected, without having to press the power switch. It does however go straight to standby.
