Hi Guys,

My mate's just given me his PC that i built for him ~18 months ago, and it's DOA. First off, there are no lights so I checked the PSU - I can't short the green + black wires to turn it on, and it doesn't work in another computer.

Next off, I tried my PSU in his PC to try that, but it still doesn't work.

So I'm guessing that both the Mobo and PSU are dead, is there any chance anything else will need to be replaced? And could the PSU going have fried the motherboard?

Anything else I should try and diagnose before getting these bits RMAd?

Cheers

PSU could fry the board, I think thats just what happened to mine. Although it only seems that the PSU going has buggered up a couple of RAM slots. Another thing I did try my PSU in a mates PC and it powered up and booted fine but it will not power up my Mobo completely only the fans spin but no post. So A PSU may work in one mobo but not another. WEIRD!!! But I think it just means that my PSU wasnt supplying enough juice to my PC but was to his PC
