The availablity in IKEA is grim just now. Has anyone purchased from elsewhere recently and been happy with build quality? Would I be better trying to build from separates?

Budget around £200 maximum.

TIA :)

Kitchen worktop and IKEA legs?

I did this and it's great, once I'd sanded and oiled the 2m oak top. Cost less than £200 but elbow grease required for a superior product to IKEA

Yep this. I went for an ikea kitchen top, but a friend got elsewhere and it's nicer. Thicker and feels a lot sturdier. Google Ikea hack desk or check the thread here - show your desk.

Did the same, works a treat! I got trestle legs and some drawers to rest on
