Some times when I push the power button all the fans, lights and pump power up then a few seconds later everything goes dead, no motherboard splash screen nothing. The PC then has another go and boots fine.

Specs are
i5 2500k @ 4.5 ghz 1.3v
Asus z77 sabertooth
Kingston hyper x gray ram

I was going to say, it sounds like a failing overclock. The board tries to boot with your settings but fails and reverts to defaults.

Have you reset your bios/cmos?
