PC for the next 10 years build

In the current market that's actually not outrageous for what you get, but personally I'd just buy a decent 8 core CPU like the 5800X (10850K is alright too) with a reasonable graphics card like a 3060 Ti or 3070. It's pointless to try and future proof, especially if you're playing at 1080p. The highest-end graphics cards don't offer enough performance to justify their extra cost and probably won't last any longer, you're better off putting 50% of their cost in a savings account and buying another card in 5 years time.

We can't say how far CPU performance will improve, but if a current-gen 8 core isn't enough then that suggests such a big increase in requirements that anything you buy now (even a 16 core) would be obsolete.

TBH that's probably the sensible option. Buy a 6/8 core CPU and a ~RTX 3060 for around £1500. Beyond that's you're well into diminishing returns on money you spend.

Bank the £1000 saved from your £2500 budget and you can upgrade the GPU and other components as required in 3-4 years time to get a computer that will last you for the next decade.
