*** PC Gaming - Daily Deals Thread ***

If anyone has managed to avoid it for this long, Portal 2 is £3.74 in the daily steam deal. If you haven't already bought it, stop reading this and buy it :p

£4.99 for Spec Ops is a must buy... regardless of what you think of the gameplay, you will enjoy it.

Many years ago, you'd pay more than that to rent a VHS! With this you're owning a great game, with an even greater story. It's as compelling as a movie yet you control whats going on, it's great. Anyone who has 'mixed' opinions on it need to go look at The Walking Dead this year as Game of the Year winner, or Heavy Rain for 2010 GOTY; it shows that no matter what people think of a games gameplay, if the story is that good, it'll be hugely successful, and come on nobody can say they enjoyed the actual gameplay of either of those two!

Specs Ops is nothing like them gameplay wise though, none of that fail quicktime event cutscene malarky, it's a solid third person shooter , pretty much a clone of SOCOM but a million times better.

Great perspective there, although I always bought blank VhS for under a quid and had a mate with two videos and a Global Video membership card. :)

I enjoyed the gameplay of both The Walking Dead and Heavy Rain. Although I agree with what you've said of Spec Ops what ive played is great.

I can understand enjoying the interactivity but there isn't much actual gameplay to speak of, my only point was that regardless of whether somebody enjoys the actual gameplay of Spec Ops or not, for £4.99, they'll feel like they got their monies worth just with the story. Although yeah I do agree on the gameplay being good, bloody hard at some points on hardest though. :p

VHS piracy? :D Haha, old school. :p

Oh they are different? I thought The Walking Dead was just a QTE like Heavy Rain. :p Fair enough.

the full pack is 107 quid! :o

The Sims expansions have always cost the same as the base game. I think it's because EA know their audience and like to pretend their expansion packs are huuuuuuge, and the clueless people that mostly play the genre sheep out and get it. :D

That's coming from a pretty solid Sims fan and I've never once bought an expansion except The Sims 2 Pets on PS2 back the day. My mum has all the Sims 2 expansions on PC and I can remember her shoveling out tons of money on them, and when I tried them out I was just like 'O.o this was £20?'. Literally they were just two or three new locations and a few items.

Anyone know if the steam serials for Sims 3 also register on Origin. Anyway from Game PC atm so unable to try myself)
