Hey guys, just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat. I am using my plasma as the monitor, and i must say, its awesome. However, im apparently gaming at 1024x768 or somthing and it looks great. Im able to go to my graphics and turn the res up to the coveted 1920x1080 and tbh, it makes my tv look weird. Does anyone else game at 1024?

Is it actually a full HD panel or is the native resolution 1024x768?

If it's the latter then it may look better as it's running at the native resolution instead of having to interpolate a 1920x1080 signal to fit.

Samsung don't make 42" LCDs. Sounds like you have the SAMSUNG PS42C450 Plasma, which has a native res of 1024x768. Going above it is pointless, since the graphics card/display will simply downscale the image.

As for gaming at 1024x768 - for competitive gaming that may even be considered high res :) Also, most console games are simply upscaled from a low res similar to this.

Its a full HD Samung 42" Plasma and it says the optimal resolution is 1024x768. Just wanted to see if anyone else gamed at this res, because on all the reviews they are at 1680, 1920 etc.
It looks awesome though lol, maybe because I don't sit close like you would with a monitor, and i guess i wouldn't need a beastly gpu to play on max due to my lower res. So maybe this is a good thing. ^^
