I would be worried if I owned a Q-Tec.

To be honest, getting a cheaper PSU from us is better. The OCZ/OcUK PSU's are better.

You do know if a Q-Tec goes pop it tends to take out motherboard and Graphics Cards with it. At least the OCZ/OcUK will are more reliable, if they go pop they have safety features to ensure your components are protected.

First job I did when I started working at OcUK was getting Q-Tec dropped from the site.

God damnit, only recently bought my corsair tx 950w. Granted it's still quality, i'd probably have taken pc power and cooling over it though.

They are good prices.

If only i had the cash. I'm worried about my Q-TEC :D

The neighbours should worry also and clear any small children and animals from the immediate area :p

The overvoltage part is very important. Ive had both cheap and proper brand and the difference is losing just the psu or everything, Ive had both situations though my HDD did survive at least and keep working many years after

PSU's are more important than people think, I had HDD failures every few months, all WD, all failing with bad sectors, and it was getting faster, at the end failures were in less than singe digit minutes..

last one I put in a external box, ran for 4 days, moved it into pc, one boot later failure....

every time damage to hdd was permanent bad sectors, cure, new psu, went from the iffy 850w ebay noname down to a 500w and not looked back, guess it had some ripple, oddly even on same power connector the seagates and samsungs didnt care and performed showing no faults, this made diagnosis harder.

I wont use WD now, or cheap money saving psu's

Ace Modder, (if that IS your real name!) who makes the OcUK own brand PSUs please?

My real name is Lord Jaffar of the land of yester-yonder, but this is irrelevant. :)

The OcUK Battle and Crusade units are made by PowerCool and the Swift units (not recemmended for dedicated GPU systems) are made by WinPower.

I had a cheap swift psu running an i7 system recently. Wasnt intended to do that but seemed to do the job anyway without capacitors screaming, etc lol

how reliable are the battle psu's? i was thinking of getting a 450w one for a HTPC

The 910w is at a good price, but the XFX BE 750w is still a better deal as opposed to the Silencer 760w ... as it's on the same M12D platform, but you get modularity for £5 extra.
