Hi

my pc today started doing strange things

it was fine up till last night when this morning I tried to turn it on, but blue screened when starting windows, when 4 coloured flags appear, this led to think it was graphics card, however changing it for another didnt solve anything, so i tried removing ram, this didnt solve it however bios recognised 4gig when i had 6 gig installed. So then I tried Memtest and all was well, even recognised 6 gig.

A friend said try clean install of win 7 64, so i did, this solved problem, but after doing a burn in test pc crashed and pc said 1 disk may have a problem.

So I installed on a fresh WD old style hdd and all was well, but omg old hdd suck compared to raid 0 ssd :p,

Through all this the pc was at start up, powering up then after 1-2 seconds powering down, then up and down then finally staying on and loading windows fine. I have never seen this before, any ideas, i think 1 or both ssd's maybe knackered and its still only recognising 4gig installed and it is 64 bit win 7. Also reseated cpu and fan

Have you tried a different PSU ? You might have a defective one or it could be on its way out. Otherwise check there is nothing shorting out on the case - motherboard correctly installed etc...

Will try different psu today..pc has been sat in same place for last 2 years with no probs, and psu only 6 months old, hopefully not a short, if it was would it just simply not boot up at all?

It was also over clocked to 4ghz very stable for just over 2 years until 2 months ago when bios said overclocking failed..could this be a sign of failing mobo?

Did you try a different PSU today - any difference? If not....

Have you tried resetting your BIOS - taking the CMOS battery out for a while and putting back, shorting the pins etc? You could try updating your BIOS too to see if this makes any difference - DO NOT do this through a Windows program - found this out a couple of years ago where the update failed and I had to send my mobo off to a specialist to be reprogrammed!
