Just got some new components for my PC: CPU, HDD, and extra ram. So I thought I'd take the time to just completely strip it back, tidy up the cabling, and install the new components. Now everything is back together and when I switch it on nothing displays on screen, although every device seems to power on (all fans inc graphics are spinning up)

Things I have tried (and haven't worked...):

- Running via One stick of known working RAM
- Running with no RAM at all (no error beep occured :S)
- Running with one stick of ram and one known HDD and DVD
- Running an alternative graphics card in the same slot (only one PCI-e 16 lane avail)
- Reset CMOS

Does anybody else have any ideas?

Companents:

Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R
4GB 6400 RAM
8800GT 512mb (also tried 7600GT256mb)
1TB WD
Q8300 CPU (with stock fan)

+ Have you installed both 4pin and 24 pin atx connectors?

Try a different PCi lane.

Yes both are plugged in and I've only got one PCI-e lane availible and I haven't got any other type of graphic card other than PCI-e to test it unfortunatly.

My thinking is that its the PCI-E slot for whatever reason, seeing as two cards fail to work

Yeah just tried and it works fine :(

It was all working before I decided to fit a new CPU. I cant thing of any physical trauma I expelled onto it
