PCI card that can do 5.1 DDL over optical

Hi,

Does anyone know which soundcard can output 5.1 Dolby Digital Live through an optical socket (like my X fi titanium), but connects via PCI rather than PCIe?

Xonar D1 can be had for £45 delivered and should support DDL through an adapter if it's ok for your needs.

The D1 doesn't need an additional adaptor. One comes in the pack.

Another alternative is the OEM X-Fi SB0770, which can usually be found farly cheaply on the bay (often cheaper than the Xonar). It's often listed as an OEM X-Fi Xtreme Gamer or Xtreme Music (sometimes Dell or HP). It's essentially a PCI version of the Titanium, with optical in and out but has never been a retail version for some reason. It doesn't come with DDL as standard but you just need to pay US$5 to Creative's US web store and DDL and DTS connect will be activated.

Great advice - thank you all.

I orderd the xonar in the end. It will be to connect a HT-PC to some pretty serious Hi-fi in my brother's home theatre.
