PCI SLOT FAIURE

Please help someone... I have an Asus a8n sli deluxe mobo and just recently the PCI slots will not work. I have changed hard drives lately as my Raptor give up the ghost. I have also tried XP and Vista but the problem is there. Can any one shed some light on this situation.

Is it just the one thing youre trying in the slots. If you have a different card to try it may eliominate a broken card rather than the slot

I have the same board, not sure if it's the same problem as you, but my X-Fi card wouldn't be picked up.

Changed it to a different slot and it worked fine. Put it back and didn't work.

Bizarre, was like the board got confused with IRQs. It was recognised in the BIOS and Device Manager, but couldn't install it until I changed slots.

If all the slots don't work, not sure what's happening, sounds like board's knackered. Getting rid of mine soon for a C2D board, so will be "disposing" of it...

If its an X-Fi hes trying then id suspect the X-Fi as they had compatibility problems with the nforce4 chipset

All slots are off. I have tried to put the Audigy ZS in all slots, but its the same. They sound card dont even show up in device manager. When i was taken the raptor out do you think i might have knocked something??

Maybe, do you have another PCI card to try?

Have you tried another PCI device? It could be the soundcard thats broken.

Just tried another sound card and ethernet card but no joy. Looks like the mobo is busted on that side of the board..
