Have paid off the final "balloon" payment on my car. Have received a confirmation of such from the Finance company.

Can I check online if my car is free of any finance restrictions please?

hpi check should give you an answer. Depends how often they update their databases and how long it has been since you closed it.

Your confirmation from the finance company should also confirm that they no longer hold any interest in the vehicle...that's all you need really.

Might take the various systems and credit check stuff a few weeks to update, depending on where you fall in their update cycle.
