Hi guys, i've been having a problem for a few months now and it is doing my head in.

I'm just trying to set-up a simple network so that i can stream some films from my Vista HTPC's onto my mac, fairly easy you would think.

Everything is hunky dory from the pc's side of things, both of them can connect to the mac, and share files etc. however i cannot for the life of me get the pc's to show up on the mac at all!!

I thought it had fixed itself the other day, when one of them showed up in the finder, however stupidly i told it not to connect to that network, as i wanted to try something first, and it has not shown up again since. As far as i am aware i have gone through the preferences to the letter on the apple discussions pages.

Any ideas????

You are a bloomin genius, thankyou!
---EDIT----

Ok then, next query. I have 3 folders on the pc that i want the mac to be able to gain access to, i have set them up for sharing within the network.

When i come to login to the pc from the mac, it asks me which volumes i would like to access, the 3 that i want to access are on the list, but when i try and select them it says "the volume ***** could not be mounted". So i log into the public or user instead and try and access it that way, i go back to the root directory and it shows the 3 folders but whenever i try and open the folder it says " The operation could not be completed because the original item for ***** could not be found".

Help.
