Well, got one with my renthal chain, how do I peen this thing with my tool?

It's a bloody nightmare!

The only way is to have the correct chain breaking/riveting tool. There should be a ballbearing type push plate that winds in against the pin to spread it over the plate.

Thats for riveting the hollow pins.

My mate has lent me his tool which does the hard pins, so this thread is rendered usless :)

Bike stuff innit.

Peen: A domed or curved striking face of a hammer.
Renthal: They make chains
Chains: We all know what they are :p

If you don't have a proper chain tool then......Get a big steel dolly(or FB hammer) and hold it on the inside of the pin that you want to peen. Then peen it over gently with the back of a ball end hammer. You can also have the factory "four flats" of you use a approprite pin punch and angle it.Done this many times.Just go gentle.
