Pelting cars with snow balls

Is this a new modern past time for the teenagers of today or did any of you do it when you were in your youth? as I was walking home from work today I saw a group of teenage boys doing this. They were hideing behind a wall and jumping out as cars drove past pelting them with snow balls .. one car actually stopped and the elderly driver proceeded to get out, they really didn't seem to care that they could be causing someone to have a serious accident and just find it shocking that they thought it was all one big joke.

Saw a couple of guys who must have been from Leeds Met

p) throwing snow balls at a bus as I was walking home - gotta say I don't get it either, just comes across as rather scummy.

seems to be a modern pastime, it's pure idiocy to throw anything at a moving car simply because of the danger it can cause.

I'm pretty sure in the olden days, the youth would throw snowballs at a passing horse and cart.

When I was young, we pelted a stationary ice cream van a few times. The guy would rage hard then slide the serving bit closed and drive away.

I don't think it's really a big deal, it's only a snowball. The only real problems are drivers rage and violence often occurs.

Well then that is just criminal damage. Throwing snowballs at moving objects is nothing new and people being ********* and damaging stuff isn't new either.

so the snow ball hits the windscreen totally startling the driver causing him to swerve and run over the young mum and her toddler...... what if it was your wife/sister/mother etc.

people who do things like this are just complete sphincters. :mad:

I dunno, about a month ago I was in the bus and a bunch of kids in hoodies ran out throwing rocks and stones at the bus. Nobody hurt but still damn stupid.

Just wanted some flapjacks from the supermarket, and suddenly that.

First of all why are you swerving over a snowball that will block your view partially and only for a split second? If you drive any sort of mileage at all you must end up in the ditch a hell of a lot.

I'd imagine the snow would stay on the windshield at least a bit longer than a split second as the glass is likely to match or approach the temperature outside. And a 'partial block' of your view can be quite dangerous if it is on the driver's side.

well no actually i was the poor guy that got hit by the car......but ho hum after all it was only a snow ball after all what harm could that possibly do.

anybody who thinks this is ok needs their quacking head tested.
