People who don't move over when you indicate to move out on a Motorway

Indeed... and those that don't understand merge in turn....

My wife hates me for going out and around cars that sit in a lane for a mile before the merge because it means people get angry on her side of the car lol.

that and people who decide to leave their queue and block your lane so that you cannot get past because they don't want people going down to the end of the queue and doing what you are supposed to do!

a driver did that to me once, but whilst i was passing at 20-30mph and they did it whilst i was about 2 car lengths away. honestly thought id end up filling in insurance report forms that night

Can we have them all killed or something?

And people that seem to think its normal to try and join a dual carriageway/motorway at 35 - 50mph.

True - but it would minimise overall congestion if everyone behaved properly.

Round here there's a big roundabout for the motorway junction and off of it the road to Bath. The road starts off as two lanes and then merges down to one.
At rush hour it always queues up. Problem is that because so many people only use the left lane of it the queue reaches back to the roundabout and cocks that up. If the right lane was being utilised too the queue wouldn't reach the roundabout!

I always make a point of driving down the right lane past the slow/stationary cars and then merging in turn!

And I bet some half wits think you are just trying to jump the queue?.

Unfortunately as some folk have already mentioned, the concept of merge-in-turn is completely lost on many, many drivers on our roads in the UK.

You do realise that you just contradicted yourself within the same post:

Drivers that are courteous are good drivers.
There is more to being a good driver than simply being courteous
Attempt at courtesy can be bad driving.

I knew I wasn't on to a winner as I posted that. And I got into that situation because when I made previous posts I forgot that everyone here has their pedant level set to 100%.

Next time it'll go down like this:

Well actually there's more to good driving than just courtesy...etc...etc...

all depends if it was indeed a merge in or a red X, which means lane closed.
I was coming back from workplace reps training at salford and lane 1 was closed on the M602, red X. there was a few impatient plebs doing as you say, getting to the end of the queue, oh how I lolled when I seen them on the hard shoulder with police as we all trickled by at about 5mph.

What I hate are the idiots who overtake me when I'm in lane 1 with cruise on and once past me they move into lane 1 and promtly slow down:mad:

Usually if I then go to overtake them they then decide to speed up.........

Thats because there are about 2 3 lane+ stretches of Highway in the entire country :p

I'd say there are more than that, or else I've been driving in circles! They don't do it on 2 lane highway either when the outside lane is completely free which is pretty common courtesy back home!
