People's prefered in-game chat?

TS3 for the win..
i particularity like our new plugin that switches your channels depends on which team your on in our BF3 server

TS3/Vent or Mumble.

I don't really care although the TS3/Mumble voice activation algorithms are impressive. I use TS3 with Voice Activation over Skype these days as Skype has nothing but static and constant typing/clicking noises.

Considering I only really play with two other people. Skype is the easiest.

Me and friends used to do this but we got sick of the background noise, hence the swap to TS3 with voice activation.

Preferably an in game voice client would suit be perfectly as I find TS3, Mumble etc too much hassle.

I use Skype with my brother and some of our friends and then use TS3 with all my clan mates.

The annoying thing is we may as well use skype as everyone uses bloody voice activation on TS like it a bloody chore to press a button to speak.... that's a pet peeve right there.

Am I going to be the only one to say the steam group chat?

All my mates have steam, it seems the most stress free method to get everybody in chat (we normally have 3-7 people at any one time)
The audio quality is fine, and dosnt require anybody to install any extra software

Mumble is really handy.

TS3 is ok too though.

I stick with TS3 as everyone I game with uses that. I tried mumble and honestly did not see any difference at all. I also find TS3 much easier to administrate.

The thing I love about Mumble is that when someone chats it lowers the sound of anything else in your headphones - game sound, music etc.

Only ever used Skype and Vent so not sure if any of the other programmes do that too.

It kind of depends on your use cases really. Steam chat is easy to setup but the advantage to Mumble, TS, etc is that you can have a server that anyone can drop into any time they want without having to be invited. Obviously that matters to some people and not at all to others.
