Peroxide and hair

Found a bottle of peroxide in my gf's bag which she left here. it says 5% on the side, now if i want to lighten my hair clour a little, will this work?

5% peroxide is used for mouth ulcers, and to clean wounds as far as i can remember, sort of like a mouth wash, but if you swallow it you need to go to a hospital

i would ask your girlfriend why she has it, because it can be used to treat infections of the mouth which can be contracted through oral pleasure

Domestic uses
Diluted H2O2 (around 30%) is used to bleach human hair, hence the phrases peroxide blonde and bottle blonde. It whitens skeletons that are to be put on display. 3% H2O2 is used medically for cleaning wounds, removing dead tissue, or as an oral debriding agent. Most over-the-counter peroxide solutions are not, however, suitable for ingestion

i remember i bought the 5% one by mistake, when i got home and read the instructions i was like totally gutted, i tried it on my hair and it did nothing at all, but its meant to be really good for acne and spots
