My dad took my car for its MOT on Thursday to HiQ Guildford whilst I was housebound after an op, and it passed first time with 2 advisories.
However, once back, my dad told me they apparently said my emissions weren't quite right or something and advised a Powerboost Petrol Treatment Cleaner for the princely sum of £30. There's nothing to say on my paperwork about emissions failing, and I don't know whether this stuff was put in before or after the test.
I can't help feeling that he's been had. He mentioned that when he took my mum's 1997 Clio there a few months back, they said and used the same thing.
If it's of any relevance, I have recently (~600 miles) upgraded to premium unleaded to see if it made any difference. Currently there's Momentum 99 in the tank, which I understand is better quality anyway.
Thoughts?
