Peugeot 307 - How do I get into the bonnet?

Before anyone tells me to have a look at the manual I should mention it's a hire care - it's the HDi version and I can't find anyway to open the bonnet to put water in there for the window washer..

I've had a look around the web and I'm none the wiser...

Does anyone know how to open it up? Or do I need a PHD in Engine Combustion before it opens?

There is a lever in the passenger side for the bonnet iirc.

Hmm couldn't see anything before I'd best go have a proper investigation...

Or failing that just drive it for a bit, with its superb build quality its bound to flap open sooner of later.

As I said it's a hire car and to be honest it's not actually that bad to drive one of the best diesels I've driven anyway...

The lever is on the passanger side hidden away - why it was put there I have no idea...

Presumably because when they converted it to RHD, they didn't bother moving it...

Passengers side in the front, next to the door hinge.
