Phenom II X6 1045T good buy?

I'm under the assumption he's on another forum or been on another, I find being addressed by my name and not my username weird.

Martin is short for your user name, it also just seems better to call you by what is in that,- a proper name.

If it makes you feel uncomfortable i will call you Martini1991.

Call me hum if you like :p

I am on other forums, obviously. i don't know you on anyother forums. Well, not to my knowledge, not by that name.

Damn it, i'm sure i searched socket 2011. i'll have another look, they can't be that expensive.

Edit... yeah no joy there... and stuff that lol, what's a good alternative to a socket 2011 that will fit the i3? Is that board any good or not?

I know what's what with AMD but not so much with Intel. For the Phenom the Gigabyte 970A-DS3 is the best deal...

£56 for an X79 board would be a very impressive find indeed :). For a 2120/2100 I'd need 1155 socket, which for around the £45 mark would probably be either a H61 or B75 chipset. If my friend can spend a little more, I might be able to get a low end Z68/Z77 board instead.

Not really worth spending extra on a Z68 or Z77 motherboard unless you find one for the same price as a B75. The extra money is better spent on a larger hard drive or better peripherals IMHO, if your mate keeps their PCs for a long time.

Yeah, I suppose the overclocking features of Z68/Z77 would be wasted with an i3, and I doubt he would really need CFX/SLI support.
