Hi all

I purchased a faceplate splitter in order to do away with the dongle splitter.

Using the two wires I have in 2 and 5 I simply transferred them over into the new faceplate.

Plugged back in my router and nothing.

Strangely though if I plug in my dongle splitter into the phone socket on the new faceplate internet works.

Am I missing something simple?

Left image shows original faceplate, middle shows new and right shows what works.

You have connected the wires to the wrong part of the faceplate. If you unscrew the part that is connected to the back box you will find 2 terminals in there. You need to connect the BT incoming wires to those.

OK thanks, on the backbox I have terminals labelled A and B.

I'm guessing A would be the 2 wire and B the 5 wire?

Edit: just connected up as above and working fine.

Thank you muchly.

Is that white cable the incoming cable from BT (the one you shouldn’t be messing with)? If it is it should be connected to A & B and AFAIK doesn’t matter which way round.
