To die by your side......
So my credit card company phoned me up, asked to confirm some details i just no and pushed red.

Why do companies do things like this? When it is so hard to distinguish between fake people and real people why don't banks just come out and say they will no longer ask for details over the phone?

Now it could have been legit but if it was, it would only be to sell me some sort of protection plan, so why he needs my details I don't know, and if it isn't trying to sell me something, and it is truly important, they would send me a letter.

I should be a company advisor and just point out the obvious changes that need to be made in lots of different companies, I would make a mint.

It always makes me laugh. They phone you up and want you to confirm who you are without making any effort to confirm who they are.

Have to be careful as sometimes they are legitimate.

One kept phoning me up asking me to confirm who I was and my details.

I kept refusing and in the end they sent me a letter.

Turned out I owed money on my credit card and hadn't been paying it back so they were chasing that.

This was all because I had signed up for a store card at topman not realised it was a actually a credit agreement that I had to pay off monthly.

Ended up paying the full amount back and then taking some scissors to the card haha.

That will teach me not to read letters from my bank oop.s

It probably was your CC company. They have to ensure they are talking to the correct person or they will get downmarked if the call is assessed. It's a silly system that basically results in a situation where neither party wants to give away any information for fear that they aren't speaking to who they believe they may be.
