Quick favour guys,

Looking for a simple phone for my parents to use - was recommended the 6230i - is that good for the older folks (not too complicated, not a smartphone and works perfect as a phone) and how much would one cost me to buy sim-free and unlocked (probably used I guess)?

Anything better than that?

A 6230 is a decent phone and I think pretty easy to use plus it is fairly robust as well, however I gave mine to my mum and she found it confusing with the different menu buttons and the screen wasn't clear enough for her(my fault probably as it was a bit scratched).

If you just want a phone with nothing else then either of the phones ste_bla suggests are good options.

6230i works very well for this sort of use, my mum has one, and she's not gadget inclined at all. Has the features (unlike the 1100 or 2600) but if you want to ignore them, you can do quite easily as they don't interefere at all with day to day usage.

No idea on sim free prices, but it should be free on nearly any contract (even the cheapy ones) and it's about £140 new on PAYG at the moment.

In CPW the 6230i is £99.99 + £10 top up on 02.

In the 02 shop its £129.99 with £20 free airtime.

CPW is cheapest ive seen it.

Cheers guys,

I as tempted b the 6230i as my friend has just upgrade and selling his to me for £65 - thought that was cheap and its been looked after so just wanted to check its nothing over the top and does what it says on the tin ;)

Also be useful as a good spare if mine goes missing too...
