Does anyone have experience of these sites? I want to get rid of my HTC Magic, but Mazuma are only offering £100 - I've used these in the past so trust them. But its easily worth more then that, and I'm trying to shop around but none of these sites look trustworthy.

I used Envirophone and was very easy. Sold my n95 and got just under £100. You do it online, tell them make and model etc. All they want is the phone in working order (turns on) and thats it. No box, sim card etc.... just the phone with battery. They send you a padded envelope which is free then you send off you phone with it in. They check the phone and send you a cheque. Easy as that mate.

i've bough my n81 8gb from ebay for 78quid and mazuma is giving me the same a year after should i do it? or can i get a better price for it? :)

Used mazuma a few months back without problem, and someone I know used envirofone, it took them a litle longer to send the cheque out but other than that they were fine too.

so how does this work? what do these companies earn by buying used phones, they dont resell them so where is the catch here?

Well I can't go into specifics, but all the big players in the "mobile recycling" industry will be reselling the majority of the phones that they receive.
