I'm currently using a EE 20gb sim with a moto g5 and I'm looking to upgrade through EE using websites like cpw to a bigger and higher spec phone.

The phones I'm looking at so far are:

Huawei mate 20 pro
Samsung A70
Samsung Note 9.

I really like the Mate 20 pro, but the uncertainty over whether support will continue for google services is a little off putting.

My second choice is the Note 9 but everywhere is out of stock.

My last choice is the A70, which I will admit looks excellent value, but I just prefer to have a higher screen res and camera from the other two if I'm perfectly honest.

The others I've looked at like the p30 pro are out of my price range.

I'm looking to spend up to about £38 a month max with an upfront of up to £150.

Huawei thing has been cleared up and distant memory now unless something I haven't see over last few days?

Plenty of Note 9 phones in stock that I can see and Huawei P30 Pro is also within the budget you've outlined. Don't look on CPW as they are overpriced, go straight to comparison sites like uSwitch and Money Supermarket and they will show the cheapest resellers.

Doh!

Yeah you are right using those two comparison sites I found many more affordable options. Now I'm spoilt for choice.:)

I had a s8 plus hated it, did not want another phone with pointless curved edges.. no complaints with the a70..

Higher res? Wife has my old s8 plus and they look the same to me side by side despite the s8p being higher res (I think)

I moved from a regular s8 to an a70 and I'd say there is a difference in sharpness there but really its minute and doesn't bother me in the slightest. What I do notice more readily is the lack of HDR and DCI-p3 support - the s8 was just brighter and more colourful but again not a deal breaker. I much prefer the larger screen on the a70 and I most definitely prefer the 7 to 8 hour SOT lol
