Phone with highest resale value

Hey,

I'm just wondering what contract phone, obtainable on an upgrade, people believe would have the highest resale value on a certain well known website. I am pretty desperate for cash at the moment, and I don't mind the phone I have at the moment, so I figured I might as well upgrade on my contract (its been expired for 7 monthes now too, I'm just stupid I figure!).

I'm on O2, so it has to be one they offer on their online tariff, but I don't see them demanding too much in terms of payment, as I ALWAYS go out of contract, and as I say, I've been due an upgrade for a while. Anyway, any recommendations would be appreciated, I look forward to hearing what people have to say.

best bet is the xda's, the mini S if goin for £280+ on fleabay at the mo, either that or the Nokia 8800 but they will ask a lot for it

Do you think they'd ask a lot for the xda though on an upgrade? Obviously the point is to make money, and yeah I'd assumed that the 8800 would cost a lot. I have no idea why though, but don't get me started on that phone!

The 8800 is a top phone (mines in for repair at the mo  ) They will prob ask you around £70 max for the xda mini, its unlocked as standard so you can easily shift it

I got my XDA Mini S for free (£45 a month on a 12 month contract - I spend way more than that per month anyway). That's nothing special as it's a standard offer. Maybe you could haggle for it for free but at a lower tariff?

hmm maybe. My tariff is already pretty amazing, - 700 mins, 400 txts for £30. I usually go over though. So it seems the consensus anyway is the mini s

I get 300 mins and 500 texts and 2mb GPRS for £10 per month. Plus i got £100 free credit for this year too no hassle. Meaning this years contract will cost me all of £20 if i dont go over.

You don't own a contract phone until you have completed the contract so selling it is a bit naughty unless your waiting for 12 months first. I'm assuming if you defaulted on the contract the operator could kill the phone if you didn't send it back.

Hmm, I'm not sure about that, I can't imagine them asking for the phone, just for the customer to pay off the remaining balance of their contract. Anyway, I've not defaulted on a contract yet, and I'm not planning on starting now!

How long is this selling contract phones going to go on for ? surely there going to catch on and its going to hurt us all in the long run...

It's not naughty at all, why would they want a used mobile phone back when you're paying for it in full already? once you sign the contract you can do what you want with the phone.

Again why would they want to stop you? You pay for the phone over the year. It's been going on for years and years, it doesn't affect them or us.
