im guessing you all have seen the latest run of phones4u adverts, full of retards (is that word allowed?). I don't understand what the person who crearted those adverts was thinking as its bascially full of spasticated people making weird noises.

I think that phones4u shouldn't be allowed to show adverts like that as it does take the pee out of them, each advert getting worse.

anyone else with thoughts of there latest adverts?

When you say spasticated, are you referring to a person suffering from Spastic Cerebral Palsy? Only i've never heard that word before and if this is what you mean, how does the series of adverts attempt to target these people and for what positive effect in your opinion?

No, spasticated refers to a civilization dating approx 500bc to 100ad, this little known Celtic tribe known as the Spasticai by the Romans and the Spastikoi by the Greeks, were based in Wales.

Their Culture revolved around communal farms and extensive copper mining, in fact many remaining examples of their civilization remain today both in the Hill forts they built to protect their homeland and of course many works of pottery and tool making which survive today in the British Museum.

Phones4u have produced a series of adverts which not only pushes its products but also informs and enlightens Britons as to their heritage, particularly impressive is the use of cinematography in some of the scenes.

So to be 'spasticated' means to be as the noble but little known 'spasticai'.

*or it could just be an offensive term ie 'I've gone all spasticated'.

sorry, the word spasticated comes from all the people i went to school with (sigh) saying it, also geek was another one.

But you must see what i mean by the adverts, they In my opinion are not right and its only getting worse and worse. The latest one showing that perons being like, yeah, yeah, yeaaaah, yeah yeah yeaaaah, wtf is that about?

I don't like them at all, I don't think they are clever or funny, I do think they are representative of how Phones4u sees its customers though.

They are trying so hard to be humourous that they've completely missed the mark.
Phones4U aren't the only company trying this type of ad, I've seen other companies with similar approaches.

I can always tell when its a O2/Orange/Vodaphone/TMobile/Thr33 advert even if I've not seen it before as they all use the same format of being arty farty dreamscape 20 somethings walking around looking like they're high, beaming away.

So you don't know the meaning of a word yet you use it in a detrimental manner?

"Spacker" comes from "The Spastic Society" which changed its name a few years ago...So all us children of the eighties should really be calling each other "Scopers".
