The only things that ASDA will take as ID are: Passport (10 year), driving license & a card showing the PASS logo. So get one with a PASS logo - http://www.pass-scheme.org.uk/.

A photocopy of a passport won't work.

Should have read the rest of the posts first. I've taken my passport out a couple of times when I'v misplaced my drivers license and was in a hurry. Other than drivers license and passport I have no idea what doormen would take as ID.

I hear they're asking for facebook accounts to be shown on smart phones to prove it's you though? Might work?

They're only available in NI though and wouldn't be an acceptable form of ID anywhere else in the UK.

this. lasts as long as a passport and its cheaper to replace if you misplace it as well. not to mention easier to carry around.

Not many options apart from the extortionate cost of a passport. You could always create a fake passport I guess, not as though doormen would be able to tell the difference.

From what I read, you don't need to hand it in (and some places may accept it as ID), but they won't issue you a replacement unless you're on the NI voter register
