Wanting to look into getting a printer to print upto A4 size prints, maybe bigger, but not all that bothered.

Wanting something to print out good quality images, and also as a normal printer.

An all-in-one would be a good idea, with SD Card inputs, no big deal if not.

No budget, but lower the better.

Canon IP pixma range of printers are really good. TBH, for people wanting to buy colour printers these days, I would suggest just getting the cheapest thing you can find, and running it into the ground. Then buy another.

I really do feel that Canon produce the best printers in the business.

And thats coming from an A3+ Epson user.

Any specifics you'd recommend mate?

Not wanting something that is like amazing quality, but something i can give people instead of printing through photobox / retail shops. Also so i can blow pictures up etc.

Personally I don't like Canon printers. I had one not long ago and it brightened my images too much and used stupid amounts of ink. Either that or Canon cartridges have very small capacities. My new printer produces images that look much more like the ones I see on my screen.

So, my recomendation is the HP Photosmart C5180 all in one. It uses a 6 ink system too and is very economical and I've always been really pleased with the quality of the images it produces. Cost wise, it's around £170.

I use a canon Pixma IP4300.
Frugal on Ink use.
Good quality prints on Ilford paper with Ilford printer profiles.
