just got sent my calibration print and was wondering what is the best route in photoshop to match print to on screen image.

The colours on screen are very lighter than the print.

eg:
The blue on the print is a more navy shade where as the blue on screen is very bright fun blue.

All the colours are much darker and bolder on the print than on screen.

Would adobe gamma help? (see control panel)

I'm confused as to if you need to change just your screen's colour, or the colour profile for the monitor.

The nVidia control panel has a few colour/gamma settings too.

I am sorry if this is way off topic, but these kinds of problems are the reason why I print my own stuff at home.

Having said that, do they also provide a digital version of the print so that you can try and match the monitor to the print?

Once its set up you wont go back to home printing if you can afford to do it via photobox.
Home printing is generally more expensive than online/highstreet developing :)

Well my monitor is calibrated with a Spyder 2 but this wont mean that photobox prints will be acurate. The sypder has configured the monitor for acurate colour output in my surroundings.

For photobox I need to adjust my prints.

Hmmmm. Assuming your monitor is calibrated correctly, it should be able to translate whatever colourspace your image is in to accurate colours on your screen. Similarly, photoboxes printer takes the colourspace on the image, and makes true colours out of them, assuming their printers are correctly calibrated.

I would suggest either that your monitor isn't calibrated as accurately as you need it, or photobox have made an error and you should try a different colourspace (AdobeRGB?).

Try the methods discussed in this thread. You need to work with the paper profiles to get accurate results.
