OK, following from Squirrel's request to see more from the the same lady that is representing me in this months comp!!

1. This is one of my preferred pics - it would go in the comp shame about the orange shadow under her chin - I hadn't realised she'd turned the light on!! Doh! Once I get to grips with PS I hope to lose it somehow!

Thank No Swearing! for Monopods as I was at 1/30th - 1/50th for most of these! It was pooring with rain outside so had naff all ambient light, so luckily had my SB 900 on the go too!

Would love to hear your feedback - Not from Comp judges though just in case!!

Cheers

Paul

Yummy! I like the last because of the blurred background brings the focus to her. In 3,4,6, I find the background a bit too distracting from the subject. 5 works for me too.

Excellent series of pictures there considering your adverse lighting and slow shutter speeds. did you have much input into the posing of the model or did you just say go for it and I'll snap away :p

Its hard to choose a favourite out of the ones you've listed cos since the model is so comfortable in front of the camera each of her poses / expressions brings something to each shot. I would say however that the flash in pic 6 is a little harsh and has washed out the photo slightly where as the others have more of an impact on the viewer. Apart from that good going. Have you done many shoots like this before?

Thanks guys!

What I'd call my first shoot proper if you like! Never done anything like it before either - my first time also using my SU 800 (I bought this the day before!!!) and SB 900 Flash. I have to say anyone who is into flash should get the SU 800 or Cannon/Sony equiv. The ability to alter flash on the fly without ******* about in the camera menu is an absolute godsend! I need another SB900 though - one light only is a bit restricting and it would be awsome to get a light behind for some effect!!

The downside, I've seen what the SU 800 does and now I'm interested in pocket wizards hopefully the latest and greatest will be out for Nikon soon!

As said she's clearly happy in front of a camera which does obviously help but it's amazing how fast you find yourself directing, it took me about 10-15 mins to get into the swing of things and find my groove!

Derek - You're right with 6 Can probably sort that somehow with some PS work! ;)

I think you'd be very lucky to get the same with an amateur model!

Wait....Charley...second name being with an A?????

How much did it cost you to hire her? Or was it TFP ?

ps She has attitude by the bucket load and you have certainly captured that !!!

He said £30/hour in the competition discussion thread. Very good imo.

Cracking shots mate. I found her on Purestorm, seems she does some rather......erm 'naked' stuff as well ;)

I think I might look into contacting some models soon, some with experience as it should help me learn. Sounds like it was a great experience for you.

Ah yes, so he did. :)

Did she do her own makeup? I'm noticing a lot of difference between skin-tones on the face and the rest of the body. I'm also seeing a lot of difference between the skin-tones in each picture. I'm not sure if I've got my screen calibrated ideally (Dell 3008WFP + Spyder 3 Pro @ 5800K and Gamma=2), so please understand I make the following comments with no authority...

1. Peachy skin but face too white
2. Skin looks more tanned than 1, face looks red (blood rushed to head given upside-down?)
3. Probably most believable, though skin in 1 is more appealing
4. Face almost looks blue with over-strong highlights, skin looks healthy
5. Healthy tan, looks good
6. Skin looks a little grey
7. A little orange

I'll also echo comments that the background can be distracting. I really know very little about portraiture, but it looks like a competant set :)

Yup that's the one! She has rates for the more shall we say exotic stuff! She's certainly beyond TFP/TFCD unless you're David Bailey or Perou. I would also say to anyone please just ask what her rates are before you start quoting me! Thanks

I haven't used any calibration on my laptop so I may very well being seeing different colours to your good self! It might also be me readjusting the colours incorectly in PS - which I'm crap on!!

Yup she did all her own stuff! Not quite in the league to get a MUA too! lol!

Indeed she does! She also has a rather hard looking b/friend in the paras, although I think he's coming out! Have you done a shoot with her raymond?

I think they're cracking! I am leaning towards 4 being my favourite because I love her facial expression, and the light on her face as well. I also think the bokeh helps her stand out more than a couple of the others.

Really nice shots though, and I love the underwear with T-shirt style going on in them as well.

Had a little go at some other pics from this shoot!

Would really like to hear your comments! :D

I love all the latest PP shots; apart from the last one where her angle makes her look like Aunt Fanny from Robots. For some reason, she reminds me of Lindsay Lohon, the previous version, not the lesbo blondie.
