Considering a possible move from version 9 of Photoshop elements and Premier elements, to Elements version 10.
Currently I have moved the amount of memory that Photoshop Element 9 is able to access from the default 1.6GB to the maximum 3.5GB (which has made a noticeable difference) the laptop has 8GB of RAM thereby meaning that there is still some memory that is unused. With Photoshop Elements 10 being 64bit based does this automatically access the maximum memory that it is able to, or does it needs the settings changed like 9?
Same question on Premier Elements.
But also in Premier Elements 9 there does not seem to be a way to increase the amount of memory that it can access, the laptop shows that with Premier Elements running it never uses more than 2.2GB. Is there a setting that I am missing somewhere or should I instead be looking at instead to increase the scratch drive which seems to be set at 1GB at the moment?
Has anyone moved from Elements 9 to Elements 10, and what did you think, was it worth the move / money?
Does either Elements 9 or 10 use hyper-threading?
or for that matter does Lightroom 3 use hyper-threading also?
Thanks for any light that anyone can throw on the above.
