Hi all. Well, a small problem from me:

I just processed a shot in PhotoShop CS 8.0 and have uploaded it to my Flickr account using FireFox but on doing so I have noticed that the colours on the uploaded photo look totally different to the colours on the PhotoShop photo. Mainly, the colours look very un-saturated on the up-loaded shot but on the PhotoShop shot they look nice and saturated.

This is on my MacBook Pro by the way.

Could anyone shed some light onto this matter?

Many thanks in advance.

Check the colour space setting in photoshop. If it is set to AdobeRGB, then you need to convert to colourspace to sRGB before posting for web. To do this go to "edit>convert to profile" and select sRGB.

Alternately you can use the image processor under "file>scripts" to do it and let it auto convert to sRGB.

Lastly check that your monitor is colour profiled. This can make a difference.

Ok, Many Thanks.

Are you using 'save for web' or regular 'save as'? I started out using 'save for web' but soon realised i was losing a lot of the colour on my shots. I stick with 'save as' now, also because it keeps EXIF info in the file. It might be a bigger file (although iirc there wasnt much in it at all), but i'm sure people who are looking wont mind that much.

That shouldnt make any difference, adobergb gamut is nearly identical to srgb.

Ive heard that internet explorer isnt capable of showing the full colour range of most profiles, where photohsop is. I cant show you this as you'd be viewing it in IE
