Picked This Up Monday (Pics)

Hi All

I have been a long term fan of the 205 GTI, and after having owned a 1987 1.6 GTI I knew that one day I would have to get the Big Brother the 1.9 and after seeing this up for sale I just had to buy it:

Spec:

1992 Miami Blue 1.9 (Non CAT)

96,000 Genuine Miles

Few dinks and dents but nothing too expensive to fix

My Goal is to have a completly mint 205 GTI in every way so I have got some funds together and will be restoring the car to its full glory ready for the summer. Hopefully.

Groovy car - really liked those.

Funky colour too. Looks in great nick too.

I always preferred the 1.6, but there's no denying the 1.9 is still fantastic.

Love the look of the 205GTI (wouldn't mind one as a track or road rally toy actually). And agreed that Miami Blue is the best colour!

OT: That photo looks like it could have been taken behind OcUK (although i've never seen that little cars behind it!)

Great car mate, I still want one, just not sure if it would be reliable enough as a daily driver.

If its looked after properly, i can't see why not. I know loads of people who use theirs for the daily commute

My favourite car, looks quite tidy aswell though not keen on the red stripe, perhaps white or silver would look better?

So...when are you taking me out for a spin in it?

Looks beautiful. You'll not regret buying it. If you've not done so already sign up at 205 GTI Drivers it's a great resource for 205s and the forums are full of helpful (and knowledgeable) people. I can guarentee once you start the restoration project you'll never stop (as I'm finding!!), but it's all worth it.

Owned the 1.6, and drove the 1.9. Mate, get a 1.6 box in there and have traffic GPs for the win!!

NICE!

All you need now is a BX GTi 16v motor and a few exhaust mods and you will have a great track car or sleeper..

This man speakths the truth... the 1.6 'box is a straight swap and on the 1.9 is pulls like theres no tomorrow! (I know a couple of people who have done it, amazing difference on the lanes!)
