Busy time for us, went to the Porsche Boxster launch yesterday and managed to snag a fully loaded demo that hadn't even been driven yet for $3k under sticker price, rather amazing considering there's a year waiting list on them at the moment and they aren't even officially on sale until Monday over here!

Wifey's very happy with it, makes a great stable mate for the GT-R, although that will be traded in at the end of the year for a shiny new one, just can't decide between white or blue yet.

Porsche have done one hell of a job with the new Boxster, hands down I prefer it to the new 911 having spent quite a lot of time in both now. The engine is marvelous and revs all the way to 7800rpm - it just keeps on going, a lot of fun indeed.

We also picked up a Ford F-150 Raptor, made by the same people that produce the GT-500 Mustangs - SVT. It's a bit of a beast, so comfy and with 17" of suspension travel! Proper engine in it too, no diesel here, 420hp 6.3L V8 and we're going to have it supercharged soon for 700 hehe.

Anyway, enjoy the pics :)

Two cracking purchases

What happened to the Evoque?

Have a look under the Raptor, I think it got squashed.

In all seriousness however, the Evoque gave us major practicality issues for a vehicle of its class. There were a couple of really stupid design decisions preventing you from putting the larger of the two rear seats down independently, rather you had to put the single seat down only, giving no extra room for luggage. We couldn't even fit two suitcases in the car without putting both back seats down, pretty useless when you need to run 2 people to the airport....

Other than that, we had a couple of quality niggles with the leather interior but nothing major. All in all, we did well on the Evoque though, we only lost a couple of thousand dollars for driving it for 5500 miles in 4 months as a trade in on the Boxster.
