Not in classic status yet, but it may well become one. I've always wanted one and have stopped myself so many times, but persuaded myself to get this one.
Its only a 3.0 litre straight six so running costs shouldn't be to horrendous, as I couldn't justify the economy of another V8 :)

We'll see how it goes :)

I've given up on modern cars for the time being. Far more trouble than they're worth. The snap point was when my 18 year old heavily abused Range Rover was far more reliable than an S reg Omega with full history. I'm intending to leave myself with the Mercedes, The Range Rover and the Nissan Sunny as a runabout.

No selling/trading read the FAQs. FF.

It'll never be a future classic unless its the right spec, and blue velour in a large Merc is the wrong spec.

And £725 for a Mk1 Mondeo? Good luck :p

Should have got an SEC, much more likely to be a future classic imo. Nice car all the same. I was looking at older Mercs as I know they can be bargains and are reliable. They look fantastic too.

My old primary school teacher used to have one of those in a light blue colour. That was about 10 years ago now. I always thought it was an old banger and hated it because it was so square. To be honest I still dislike them but I hope it provides trouble free motoring for you.

Well I bought it because I like it, not for what other people think of it, besides for less than £700 I don't care if I keep it for years.

Had three calls since the ad went live at 5:00 last night and one is coming to look at it today, and the other two are waiting for a call back from me.

Sorry, is that supposed to be funny?

Back to the more serious members of the forum, the Mondeo was priced in line with the other cars in the south west in Autotrader. I am in no hurry to sell it, and am open to decent offers, so why should I advertise it for silly money just to get a quick sale.
