Managed to get a 63 plate MT09 15k milage massive amount of extra including full Akra.

I've done the HPI check, intend to check the guy is who he is etc passport against log book. Seems a genuine guy.

What do I need to look for when viewing. He's offered to take me round the block and if I put a £500 deposit down I can test ride it... Stupidly told him I've just passed my test.

Any help would be great. (last post... promise)

Also... I'm having issues getting through to the insurance company.

The guy has offered for me to use his laptop so I can get it online, I'm getting a quote TPFT for £277 with Hastings..... It will be ok if on the day I just take out online and ride it home yes?

Cheers lads!
This is my plan of attack to cover myself tomorrow…. I’m very over the top and its my first bike purchases.. So as scared as I am excited.

So Far:

* Checked with local Yam dealer on issues with the bike in general. Nothing really
* Got part Exchange price (£200 off what I’m buying it for) He has a new Speed triple and decided he wants rid of the MT09
* Arranged for a once over by the mechanic once its purchased

Tonight:

* Complete the HPI check someone linked in the other chat (haven’t done it yet sorry said above I have)
* Look online at the MOT history

Tomorrow:

* Get there look at bike documents, receipts, work done etc
* Look at his passport against his V5
* Look at service book

* Go through above list mentioned of the bike
* Start her up listen to engine idle
* Feel the byting point
* Pay £500 deposit if all ok and take it for a little spin OR shall I just go pillion rather than risk giving £500 and something going wrong… Thoughts?
* If all ok, go online and take out insurance
* Bank Transfer the balance
* Sign the log book

*RIDE OFF AND LIVE HAPPILY EVERY AFTER?

Also remember to take someone with you if you can, makes things less stressful on you if you can talk to someone while making a big decision.

Don't go pillion, you'll learn nothing.

Double and triple check that it hasn't got any sort of money owed against it.

Going with the Wife, nobody to go with.

Dont think he's keen on me riding it without a deposit.

Have you got insurance to take it for a test ride?

Oh, and I'd stay well clear of Hastings. The absolute worst company I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

I could do yeah, i was going to take the insurance out before buying it ofc. So could give it a ride before hand.... Dont think the guy is keen without a deposit as i told him i'm a new rider.

As for Hastings, sadly its a must as the next company up is literally double the price.

Oh yeah and the most important thing, don't forget as it'll be vital, post a pic of it on here when you get it! :D

Damn right

All sorted, he actually let me go around the block without the deposit. Was a nice guy, seemed very genuine.... Everything tallied up, the log the book, the vin number, so was an easy sale!

Cheers for the help £4000 :D

Yeah totally, i took it to JTs Yam dealer asked how much part ex, they said around £4000... lolz.... so many extra's on it man!

15,587 miles on the clock with full service history, Full Akro exhaust system with carbon end can, K&N air filter, Dynojet Quickshifter, Radiator guard, tail light with integrated indicators, Evotech tail tidy, Givi hand guards, Carbon Fibre - front and rear mud guards, R&G engine covers , Oxford heated grips, Pazzo Short levers...

I've not test rode one yet only sat on one in the showroom... I've heard the bike wheelies very easy, also A mode can be fun!!

Difference between A and B mode is insane.

A few times I've slightly touched the throttle and am yanked backwards with the acceleration, gives me tingles at its power.

I don't think I could ever go back to something less power. The respect I have for it is unreal, truly is a power house!

4-5k revs, clutch snap up it comes no problem!

Off for a spin down the Gower tomorrow. Can't bloody wait. Bit Offspring playing in my headset, blue skies and my beautiful MT. Life is guuuud
